Public money,
published gifts.
German parties get up to 232,4 Mio. € of state money in 2026, earned by votes and by what they raise themselves. Gifts above 35 000 € are published by the Bundestag within days.
State funding fixed for 2025 · 21 parties
225,4 Mio. €,
shared by formula.
Each party gets 1,21 € per list vote for its first four million and 0,99 € after that (2026: 1,24 € and 1,02 €), plus 0,45 € for each euro of membership fees and small donations. No party may get more than it raised itself, and the total is capped: the claims of 247,9 Mio. € were cut pro rata to the ceiling.
The Länder pay 18,7 Mio. € (8,3 %), the federal budget the rest. Capped at their own income: AfD, Freie Wähler, Die PARTEI.
